TDR problem with CDI Module 4FU[speed limit]

Messagede cinek100 le 11 Avr 2017 0:28

Hello. My Yamaha TDR 2002 is restricted with module 4GX - 01 0ZD.I repleced it with another module which look the same, but its name 4FU 65.. [on picture], and It's not much difference - RPM max 10 000 on neutral gear.Max speed 80 km/h and 7000 -7500 RPM.Compression is ok.Do you have any clue about 4FU module series? Is it unrestricted? Then maybe problem is YPVS valve or Exhaust?Or I need another module?TDR oryginally is from Austria.I appreciate any help.Salute.

It's impossible to mount a cdi 4fu on a tdr of 2002, it is absolutely necessary a cdi 5ae.

French's cdi are derestricted.

In france, all cdi are derestricted (4FU and 5AE).
For us: 4FU 93/96, 5AE 97/03.

il n'y avait pas a un moment une bride derrière le compteur avec un genre de bilame qui bloquait a partir de 70/80 justement? sur les modèles allemands il me semble.... Allemagne, Pologne.... why not !

C'était le cas pour les DTR, mais pour les TDR je ne sais pas du tout.

phifi a écrit:exhaust restricted ??

I dont know is it restricted, but I disconnect exhaust totally and not better;[ There are 2 posibilities i think: CDI is restricted or there is other electric problem.

 In France the TDR pots are restricted at the red line:

 In your model, the restrictions can be at:
Exhaust pipe
Powervalve
Cdi (switch in the tachometer)

 In the german model's the original CDI has an output of 5 volts, this one goes to the counter by the white / green, and there is a reed switch in the tachometer.
When you start the engine of the bike, the counter restarts from the +5 volts to the motor valve through the green / black.

If you have this white / green wire coming to the speedometer: you can cut it, or put a switch.[/quote]
